About Us

Professional chimney services since 1979

Our story

Johnston's Chimney Sweep was started in February 1979 by former owner Jack Johnston. Jack was a 20-year York County Fire and Life Safety Department veteran. Under the new ownership of his daughter Kimber, we are a small, family-owned business operating under the highest of professionalism, ethical business practices, and unreserved honesty.

Our standard practice is to ensure the safe operating function of your fireplace and chimney flue. We have a full-time technician with over 15 years of expertise in the chimney sweep profession. Through continuing education, our technician is current on the latest business practices.

Johnston's Chimney Sweep's priority is the safety of our customers. The initial inspection is to ensure your chimney and firebox are up to code and to investigate any safety issues that may need to be addressed. At that point, we can then provide you with our recommendations. With that, we service wood-burning and gas fireplaces, wood stoves, and dryer vents. We do repair work on chimneys, flue liners, dryer vents, and fireboxes. We install chimney caps, crowns, dampers, and dryer vents. As our services and products are too numerous to list, it is recommended that you call our office at (757) 898-8232 to learn more and schedule your inspection.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. Please call for current pricing information. We are licensed and insured. All of our work is guaranteed. We look forward to serving you and all of your chimney needs.
